CeeDee Lamb: an elite alpha who simply stopped scoring
CeeDee Lamb is the headline case. He commanded 117 targets in just 14 games and posted a 28.5 percent air-yards share, the usage of a genuine WR1, yet he crossed the goal line only three times when the volume pointed closer to six. Part of that was availability, since he missed time, and part was a red-zone tree he shares. Tight end Jake Ferguson turned into a scoring machine with eight receiving touchdowns, and George Pickens added 137 targets and nine touchdowns of his own in Dallas. So Lamb is not the only mouth near the end zone. The counterweight is that a healthy, full season with an established passer in Dak Prescott should lift the raw touchdown count back toward his usage. The catch: Lamb is going as a top-five receiver, so you are paying for the bounce-back, not stealing it.
Justin Jefferson: the most extreme gap in the league
Justin Jefferson is the purest example of touchdown variance there is. He ran a massive 38.6 percent air-yards share on 141 targets, the profile of a player who should score eight to ten times, and he found the end zone twice. Our model pegged his expected touchdowns north of six. Nothing about his role suggests decline, so the scoring is almost certain to correct. The reason it is on this list rather than a genuine bargain is the same as Lamb: Jefferson is a top-six receiver by ADP, so the market has already priced him as an elite producer. The 2026 swing factor is the Minnesota quarterback, with J.J. McCarthy profiling as the passer whose downfield accuracy will decide whether Jefferson's touchdown total normalizes or stays stuck.
The value tier: Keenan Allen and Darnell Mooney
The cheaper names are where the buy-low logic actually saves you draft capital. Keenan Allen earned 122 targets in 2025 and scored only four times against an expected mark above five, and he heads into 2026 in a new role in Indianapolis at a WR71 price that bakes in none of that scoring rebound. Darnell Mooney is the deeper dart: a 24.4 percent air-yards share on 72 targets that produced just one touchdown when the usage implied closer to three, and he is available at a WR85 ADP in a new home with the Giants. Both moved teams after 2025, so weigh the new offense and target competition before you commit, but the shape is the same. The trap: why Cooper Kupp is not a real bounce-back

Cooper Kupp scored just twice on 70 targets in 2025 against an expected mark near four, which looks like a regression candidate on paper. But the reason is a stuck role, not variance. Kupp works underneath at a 14.3 percent air-yards share in a Seattle offense where Jaxon Smith-Njigba is the clear alpha, commanding 163 targets, a 50.1 percent air-yards share, and ten touchdowns. Kupp is the third option on a run-leaning team at age 33, and our graded record on him is a series of correct benches, not missed starts. When a receiver's low touchdown total comes from a shrinking role behind a true No. 1 rather than from noisy red-zone luck, it is not the buy-low the expected-touchdown number makes it look like. That is the difference this board is built to catch.
How to use the board
Expected-touchdown gaps are a real edge in a redraft or best-ball room, but only if you read them the right way. Chase the players whose usage is intact and whose scoring dip has an obvious noise explanation (a missed red-zone target here, a fluke goal-line call there), like Lamb, Jefferson at their price, and the cheaper Allen and Mooney at theirs. Fade the ones whose low scoring is really a role in decline behind a clear alpha, like Kupp. The number tells you where the touchdowns should have been. Your job is to separate the receivers who lost them to luck from the ones who lost them to their own depth chart.
