De'Von Achane Fantasy 2026: 305 Touches of Ceiling, Priced for the Health Risk
When he was on the field in 2025, Achane touched the ball 305 times and scored 20.2 PPR points a game. The usage is a top-tier back's. The draft price is not. Here is the honest floor and ceiling.

De'Von Achane is the running back the market cannot price cleanly, because his usage and his health history point in opposite directions. Take the usage first, because it is not close. Over 16 games in 2025 he carried 238 times for 1,350 yards and caught 67 of 85 targets for 488 more, a total of 305 touches and 1,838 yards from scrimmage. He averaged 20.2 PPR points per game. That is a workhorse line, not a change-of-pace one.
The role was the whole backfield
The worry with an explosive back is that he is a specialist who sits on early downs. Achane was the opposite. He was on the field for 75.7% of Miami's snaps and commanded a 19.2% target share out of the backfield, so he ate on both early downs and passing downs. A snap share that high leaves little behind him: this was a lead role, not a committee. He also held the short-yardage work that decides touchdowns, with 43 red-zone touches, 16 inside the 10, and 6 at the goal line. That is the usage that turned into 12 total touchdowns and a 5.7 yards-per-carry average.
The honest part: the price is the health tax
This is where an outlook has to be two-sided. Achane is being drafted as the eighth running back off the board, a discount to backs who did less with the ball in 2025. That gap is the market pricing his injury history, not his role. The data cuts both ways and you should hold both facts at once: when he plays, the usage is elite and repeatable, a 75.7% snap share and 19 touches a game do not happen by accident. But the whole case is conditioned on availability, and a back who carries 238 times is exposed to it. The floor is not a bad game, it is a missed one. Buy the ceiling with your eyes open, because the ceiling is real: he posted 40.5 points against Buffalo in Week 10, 31.0 versus the Chargers in Week 6, and 26.2 against New England in Week 2.
The receipts, week by week
Usage sets the range. Our graded calls test whether we read the individual weeks right, on the record. On Achane in 2025 we went 16 for 16: every week we called him startable, and every week he cleared the line. Across his full two-year graded history we sit at 27 of 33 (81.8%), with an 85.2% hit rate on our confident calls. Every call and every result is on his player page.
What it means for his 2026 price
The read is simple once you separate the two questions. The role question is settled: when Achane is active, he is a top-tier fantasy back on volume, not a boom-or-bust flier. The health question is genuine and it is why he falls to the eighth back rather than the third. If you draft him, draft the ceiling and pair him with a real contingency, not because the usage is shaky but because the games-played line is the one variable the touches cannot control.
